For the first time in Tri-Cities, two men are being charged with dealing fentanyl pills that killed a Kennewick man last October.

36 year old Hector Medina of Kennewick and 33 year old Jubentino Soto of Pasco are the two men charged with dealing the drug that killed only known as "RB".

Officials say that at least one person overdoses and dies from taking fentanyl pills every month in Tri-Cities, according to reports.

Fentanyl, also known as "Mexis" by it's street name, is a very powerful opioid that is causing overdose deaths all over the country and the world.

Both men pleaded innocent to their charges and are awaiting trial at the end of July.

Soto was released pending trial but Medina was held for his "history of failing to comply with court-imposed conditions".

Both men face a minimum of 20 years in federal prison if convicted.
